Category Buyer Forest & Grass Care

What is your role?  

  • Define and execute supplier strategy and plans, meet value proposition requirements, protect profitability and enhance overall supply chain performance
  • Collect and analyse the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative, to provide solid market information for decision-making
  • Negotiate prices, terms and delivery schedules to secure top market propositions and cost-effective rates
  • Drive supplier performance by monitoring against targets, initiating development initiatives, and addressing underperformance
  • Analyse market and competitor insights to make informed buying decisions and run tender processes to support tactical and buying, while maintaining a competitive and appealing product assortment
  • Monitor compliance of external partners to meet required standards and regulatory obligations.

Your team

You will report to the Head of Forest & Grass Care.  In the team you will work as a tandem with the Category Manager, to co-create and deliver Category Strategy & Plans, including Supplier (Portfolio) Strategy & Plans. The day-to-day execution of category and buying tasks is done by Category Specialists and Supplier Specialists.

Who are you?  

As far as location is concerned: we prefer a candidate who lives not too far away from Varsseveld, since most of the team and important stakeholders work in our HQ in Varsseveld. The Strullendorf area is also fine, as some team members work at the office there. Following our hybrid work policy of 2-3 office days per week. 

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role with strong stakeholder and commercial skills
  • Technical knowledge about how the machines are built is needed.
